i whistled a song a girl sang for me
i remembered the times that she loved me
and the lies i told that screwed it all up
and lost sight of the shore,
now i’m a lonely ship on the horizon

looking for the truth i should have found,
the love i held for you, so profound
and i’m trying to bury my old desires
pretend my heart’s all wrong

can you hear my far cry?
probably not, as you’re deaf as an ant
we are floating in air like fall’s lost leafs
in a silent forest,where no one can hear us.

we sat on the beach and she sang a song,
said how the ships looked so alone,
i walk down the lonely fall street,
